    • I think we're all bummed about the outcome of this one! I know I am; I was really getting interested in Shayla. She's the most interesting of the four women who orbit Elliot.

Vera was almost Evil Corp in one body: soulless and without a conscience. Elliot made one fundamental error in thinking Vera could be controlled because he cared about his money and his assets. But Vera knew what Elliot didn't: that his assets were gone the minute he broke out of prison. And that was Shayla's death warrant. If Vera couldn't have her, no one could.

My question is how will all this tie into the main narrative?

    • I'll post my review later! :D but for a short one, this was mindfucking. Best episode ever!

    • This one went really, really fast. I have this whole theory going that the four women who orbit Elliot each represent an element of his personality: Shayla is his self-destructive side, etc. I am really bummed about her; I liked her character a lot.

The other thing was seeing the new Evil Corp CTO SQUASH Tyrell. Watch episode notes in the episode article. That watch has a story, too.

Can't say I cared that much about Shayla. I think Angela is the most interesting woman on the show. Plus, she has a real past with Elliot. Elliot should never have thought he could control Vera in any way.

    • I find Angela rather bland. Maybe it's those blonde/blue looks (speaking as one with the same coloring.) I know she's the ideal in his constellation of women, but I simply don't care about her. Shayla, and even the annoying Darlene, have room to grow, and have flaws that make them human.

Elliot's hubris is his cryptonite. People who think they're smarter than absolutely everyone, which people like Elliot tend to do, are often looking six moves ahead, and overlook the obvious. Vera could never have returned to New York, rendering his assets valueless.

    • I just couldn't find anything compelling about Shayla, other than she looked after Elliot's dog. Angela has more grit than I'd originally figured. I believe there's much more there than meets the eye.

Darlene is just annoying, and personally I'd like to see her knocked down a peg. Not physically, but she's so smug. However, I am much more curious about the Muslim woman working with the group. Matter of fact, if there's one downside to the show, it's the fact that we know so little about those characters. It's early yet, but I wish we had more background on them.

    • I think the lack of information about Mr. Robot and the four hackers is deliberate, and designed to maintain the invisibility they like. Darlene definitely needs to be taken down a couple pegs.
